In playing games with my kids, I’ve noticed it has often been about the end result, winning or losing. I try to remind them, and myself, that playing the game is often more enjoyable. These pieces were kind of exercise in putting my money where my mouth was, the process of melty beads is slllowwwww, the final piece is almost unsatisfying compared to the amount of time you put into it. These pieces were created by placing one bead, one at a time, using a lot more restraint than my typical art making process. It made the journey an integral part of the end result.
